"Are they Twins?"

It  happened, and a lot sooner than I expected. I got asked the question that Ive been mentally preparing myself for since we found out we were expecting Roderick...."Are they twins?" I love that my children are 11 months apart. So far they get along really well. My favorite is watching them smile at one another during bath time. Here are some pics of them together...what do you think? do they look like twins? they do almost weigh the same: D 21lbs and R 18lbs

its been a while, so...here's a few things

Daveney has a new favorite cracker and we made a reading corner for her. She loves "touch and feel" books.

Roderick is so smiley and giggly these days. Also, every once in a while he sleeps like this aka like his father.

While my mom was here helping out I went and changed my look. Chopped my hair and died it. Im still getting used to styling it.

Daveney turned ONE! She ate pizza and cake for her first time on her birthday.

Robert took me on a really fun date....he spoiled me. We went to the Cheesecake Factory (presently our favorite restaurant) and ordered the avocado egg rolls (to die for, LOVE) and of course a slice of cheesecake. Robert got a red velvet cheese cake and I asked for a snickers one..mmmmmm.

Robert then took me to the Fossil store here in town and bought me this beauty for my birthday. Love my husband.

Our new hobby: Rock Climbing, there arent any mountains to climb so we climb rock instead. I really enjoy indoor rock climbing.

Another special event in our lives was Roderick's baby blessing. We are so glad he is in our family. We feel very blessed as parents.

The Mormon Trail Center and Winter Quarters Temple

Yesterday We decided to go visit the Visiter Center in Florence, Ne. Its about a 20 min drive from our home. The big reason we went was because they have an exhibit right now of Liz Lemons paintings of the life of Christ. They are so beautiful. One of the paintings of Christ was life size. There were a couple of paintings that both R and I would like to have in our home someday. After viewing those paintings we watched a 10 min movie called, "God's Plan." R said he had recently watched it with the missionaries and said it was good. When I heard the title of the movie I braced myself because I had watched that movie a thousand times on my mission and it was outdated and super cheesy. To my pleasant surprise the Church had remade the movie and it was fantastic! They tied in The Proclamation to the World: The Family in the movie very nicely. Im so grateful for the movies that the Church makes and that we can use them to teach not only investigators and new convert but for our own families. After a fun time at the VC we walked around the temple. It was the first time i had smelled flowers in what seemed like years. It was simply gorgeous and I didnt really want to leave the grounds.

Falling to Heaven

This book is really awesome! I would recommend it to everyone I know. The author describes how we can have true and lasting happiness, through the gospel.

Its so simple and incredibly profound. It was a quick read, mainly because the chapters are nice and short. Im excited to better my happiness and lean on my Redeemer a little more. My outlook on life and the gospel have changed for the better.

Fun Walks with Dad

We went for a quick walk before Ds bedtime (mainly so R could try out this hiking carrier)...we saw a bunny rabbit by our complex. D was in aw of this bunny, jaw dropped and everything....too fun.

Finished a Book

If you were to ask me if i am a "reader" or if i like to read, my honest answer would have to be no. In fact when i was a little girl i hated...loathed reading. I would fight against reading a novel for school in any way i could. it would torture me to even look up summaries online or get those shortened versions of the novel i was reading (cliff notes) that pointed out the important parts, it was painful. Anyway, I have not read very many books, ill admit. I have had phases where i get determined to read a book and i usually get half way through and never finish. So today is a big deal because it is the start of my new journey in reading books. My goal is to enjoy reading and I hope to read many books.

I dont know why i chose this book but it just worked out. The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands by Dr. Laura.

R and I are doing great in our marriage! So dont get the wrong impression. I am grateful for the examples and advice given in this book. I learned a lot. And I recommend this book to anyone about to be married, married, divorced etc. While reading this book i would share with R what i had read and ask him if he felt some of the things i was reading were true. R once said that "Dr. Laura has tapped into a mans mind." Pretty awesome. I feel that after reading this book I will be a better wife and mother.  My next book is "Falling to Heaven" by James Ferrell.

Splish Splash

With the weather going from thunderstorms to humid hot hot hot, we make sure we take advantage of the days we can go swimming!

We Just Love The Park

....need I say more.

Blueberries

D absolutely loves blueberries, i gave her the spoon and she tried to feed herself. Hahaha she did pretty well, but we have lots of practice ahead of us.

Its Getting Hot and Humid

I wanted to see how D would react to a pool...I dont know why i was so surprised (happily) but she loved it more that i thought she would. I put my feet in and it was super cold I could hardly stand it. So i put D's feet in and it didnt even phase her, she actually sat down on the step, water almost to her chest, I was shocked. She loved it and started to splashing. Then she started going head first into the water (only for a second) and loved it.  Im really excited to learn how to teach her how to swim this summer.

So Glad I Saved that Box

I just knew i needed to save the car seat box. I put toys in there and she is a happy camper.

8 Months Old

Best pic i could get, this girl is constantly on the move! yeeha!

Oh the Internet

So I was powering up our laptop to add a new post and I was holding D and she started to pound on the keyboard and then the laptop couldnt connect to the internet. I worked on the laptop for 5 hours to try to fix it. we ended up going to our local Apple store and they fixed it! im so grateful.

So, since i havent posted in a while a few things have happened in our little world.

R & D literally fell asleep like this it was too precious to not take a picture.

After a great time at the park she conked out in the Burley again.

So Busted! well it finally happened, she discovered the toilet and toilet paper. I couldnt get upset she is just too funny.

We went to Scheels to show D around. Yep thats a ferris wheel inside the store. There were lights all around it and D couldnt get enough of it. (We did not go for a ride)

She's not old enough yet but she had the wiggles so i took her to nursery on sunday. She had a great time. The big kids still need to learn how to share...mental note to self, teach my children how to share before nursery age...if possible.

This girl has always loved the vacuum, now she can crawl to it and check it out. Thanks for all your help around the house D.

As a family we went for a short walk, while we did so a family of geese popped out of the grass. So cute!
