Finally finished!

I have been working on making a dress for a while and I finally finished it!
So yesterday I wore it to the temple.
All I have to say is that it was a great learning experience......
however I think I will be buying my new dresses from now on ;)

First Presidency Devotional

We have been given a great gift from the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...go check it out!

Christmas Time

My mom surprised me by sending a box home with BYU student that was in Bakersfield for Thanksgiving break. In the box was my dream nativity set..the willow tree set!!! There are more pieces but this is the main set and I just about screamed for joy when I opened the surprise special delivery mail ;) It is so wonderful to have in our home to remind us of the true meaning of christmas...Thank you mom!!

So this is our (fake) christmas tree and with some furniture arranging it fits our little apartment perfectly. The christmas spirit is a powerful thing, especially in the home. If only we could have an added touch of snow in the valley...today it feels like summer outside....I had to close all the blinds and turn off all the lights to take this picture and it is still so bright.

Pinterest

IM HOOKED...i know that we need to be careful about spending time on the internet wasting away our lives, but i think that everyone sharing their talents and ideas with each other is so great! I cant wait to actually start doing some of the crafts for our home decor. I think I'm going to make the wreath first so it can hang on our door during December. I so excited :)

Kings Peak Continued

Yes, we did see a moose! and he was BIG. We ended up seeing him two days in a row. The view at times was so breath taking and peaceful that we often wanted to stop and take it all in, but we were racing against a storm to get to the top. It took us a while to get there, we were fatigued and tired, but determined to see the view. We reached a point where there was no longer a trail so we climbed up to the very top...a sea of boulders...jumping from one to the next. Greg and Robert were the first to the top, I was just behind them, and from where I was I couldn't see Ryan or Kami but i knew they were not far. The clouds were getting thick and dark, the wind was picking up slightly. Robert was coming back down to check on me, Ryan and Kami. I told him I would still work my way up. He went to look for Ryan and Kami to help them the rest of the way. When I reached the top Greg was gazing into the distance while enjoying an apple. I was eager to join him and sit down to watch the storm around us. As we were watching the storm the lightning was never ending. I saw one that was so big I got excited and stretched my hand out to point at where it was to show Greg..."did you see that?!" I quickly noticed as strange crackling, sparking, popping noise on my ring finger, i pulled it in quickly. Out of curiosity I stuck my hand back out, again it made that noise..I said to Greg "can you hear this?" once more my ring made those noises. Greg's facial expression made me worry a little..then he said "woah there is a lot of static electricity up here" as he was looking at his arm hair standing straight up, just seconds after he said that Roberts head popped up out of the sea of boulders and he urged us to get down from the mountain top fast! Unfortunately we were unable to get pictures from the top. We made our way back to our camp site, to our much dismay it seemed a much longer hike back in than it did on our way out....we calculated the miles for that day....20! We were exhausted! but very grateful to be back at camp, especially since it started pouring rain right as we got into our tents. The next morning as we hiked back to the trailhead, Robert told me he already missed the mountains and didn't want to go home (staring longingly at the peak we had summited only the day before)....Thats my mountain man! :) We had a safe and wonderful trip.

Kings Peak

It started out rainy, so on with the panchos, but it cleared up about half way to our camp site. It ended up being about 7 miles in until we arrived to bear lake...beautiful! We divided and conquered..Ryan and Kami set up their tent, Robert and I sent up our tent, and greg was the fire master! In no time we were eating our cup of noodles, mountain houses, and tin foil dinners. We kept the fire going for a while as we shared funny memories of each other. It got dark fast so we went to bed fast so we could rest for our long hike the next day. We woke up early, earlier than Ryan would have preferred haha, and ate our oatmeal breakfast and headed on the trail. Our first photo was on the boulder "now that is a nice boulder" (name that movie). There were some other boulders that reminded us of Trenton, because the boulders had tiger stripes.

ONE YEAR!

Robert took us to Daniels Summit Resort just east of Heber, Utah. The night we arrived we went on a hike to the top of the mountain, the next morning we ate breakfast at the lodge and went on a guided two hour horseback ride. It was so green, with flowers and trees.
We had a blast horseback riding for our one year
anniversary! Cowboy, the horse, tripped and thats
why Robert dropped the camera :)

Mt. Nebo

We had a great group (from the left)
Joe, Kami, Ryan, Lyle, Nate, Maren, Robert, Jessica
Lauren.

We were ready for our next adventure!

More Mt. Nebo

The green mountain was gorgeous making the hike quite enjoyable.

We had a great view of the sunset (above) and the next morning Robert and I woke up extra early and got a view of the sunrise...priceless.

Apart from our camp fire we made a bond fire on a hill of snow, Nate was very enthusiastic and soon everyone was involved.

Admiring the bond fire both near and far....it was pretty BIG.

The next morning we made our way to the steepest part, this picture it just before our summit.

Mt. Nebo Continued

Ryan and Kami were amazing! Here we are crossing a snow field where Robert is making footsteps with his ice axe so that no one falls.

Robert is Bouldering up the mountain...following the same dangerous path I took
...yes we are crazy!

Success! we made it to the top, it was a little windy but a beautiful sight.

Lyle was awesome to have on the trip, strong and always making people smile.

On our way down it was just as steep as going up,
the loose rocks falling down the mountain sounded scary too.

VIP

After a great game on the soccer field we headed up to The Canyons at Park City, UT for VIP weekend. We had a free night, thanks to my parents, at the sundial lodge over looking the resort. Then woke up and had a free gourmet breakfast on the resort. Ryan and Brogan met up with Robert and Dad and received free lift tickets, thanks to Nichole, and then a surprise "Valet Club" service, where their skis were put on a cart, carried over to the front of the line, which was 300 people and a hour and a half wait, and hopped on the gondola no problem, thanks to Mr. Fisherman...who ever that is. The guys could hardly contain their excitement, it seemed almost unreal as the "rich and famous" skiers made their way to the slopes, all while I made my way the to factory outlet mall with my mom and sister. The day passed by so fast. When I returned to the resort the guys were grinning ear to ear because another great day of skiing was done, all with the hopes of returning soon! Canyons
